DEPTRUM at the 2nd Hong Kong International IoT & Innovation Expo (HKTDC InnoEX)

DEPTRUM

On April 13, the 2nd Hong Kong International IoT & Innovation Expo, co-hosted by the Government of the Hong Kong SAR and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, grandly opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. As a representative of Shenzhen's science and technology innovation companies, DEPTRUM was invited to participate in the expo's roadshow activities.

Under the theme “Smart Innovation, Connecting the World,” this expo focused on smart cities, artificial intelligence, digital business and other technology sectors, aiming to deepen innovation-development and cross-field cooperation, accelerate Hong Kong's process of becoming an international I&T centre, and promote the development of new quality productive forces. The expo gathered about 3,000 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, showcasing breakthrough innovations and highlighting Hong Kong's advantages in becoming an international innovation and technology hub.

During the expo, the Shenzhen exhibitor group held the “Shenzhen Technology for a Better Life” themed exhibition, bringing together hundreds of outstanding Shenzhen technology companies spanning AI, low-altitude economy, green energy and other fields, showing the world the powerful engine of Shenzhen creating a better life through technology.

On the opening day, Dr. Zhu Li, founder & CEO of DEPTRUM, held a roadshow in the Shenzhen pavilion, reporting to a government delegation led by Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, and giving a detailed introduction to palm recognition technology. Palm recognition is the third generation of biometric technology after fingerprint and face recognition. With its accuracy, convenience and privacy advantages, it delivers the most direct and efficient identity-verification experience, and has been widely applied in payment, transportation, venues, schools and other scenarios.

“One important characteristic of palm biometric technology is security. First, a palm print itself, unlike a face, is not sensitive information — it is less intrusive. Moreover, palm recognition uses dual-factor verification of palm print and palm vein, with the advantages of being hard to copy and stable, giving it a higher security coefficient. At the same time, palm technology has excellent precision and applicability, able to cover more than a billion users. As the third generation of biometrics, palm technology will become an important technology connecting humans and AI,” Dr. Zhu Li introduced at the roadshow.

In addition, Dr. Zhu Li briefly shared the company's technical background, adoption scenarios and future plans, introducing DEPTRUM's strength in 3D vision and its innovative achievements in smart terminals, robotics, smart cockpits and other fields.

On April 15, the head of DEPTRUM's robotics business gave a roadshow centered on the company's proprietary robot solutions, holding in-depth exchanges with robotics professionals from various countries. Centered on the proprietary nanophotonic chip and sToF technology, DEPTRUM offers multiple customized robot solutions providing superior visual perception, letting robots serve various scenarios more intelligently and efficiently, further enhancing robots' potential and value across fields.
