A Wider World of Vision: Deptrum Aurora 940 Officially Released

DEPTRUM

Recently, DEPTRUM launched the all-new 3D structured-light camera — the Deptrum Aurora 940 — to satisfy robots' demand for ultra-wide field of view, providing better-matched 3D vision perception capabilities and solutions for robot obstacle avoidance.

The Deptrum Aurora 940 depth camera is designed on the speckle structured-light principle, integrating a high-performance depth computing chip and a high-performance ISP internally. It acquires the 3D structure of objects and space through 3D structured-light technology and outputs high-quality color, infrared and depth images, providing robots with convenient and efficient 3D perception.

3D vision is one of the key technologies of robot intelligence, giving robots the ability to perceive space and environment. Through the 3D visual information acquired by the Aurora 940, robots can precisely build a virtual mapping of the environment, effectively recognize and parse complex scenes, and achieve efficient obstacle avoidance and path planning.

The Aurora 940 offers an ultra-wide field of view of 105°(H) × 75°(V), meeting robots' perception needs in wide scenes and providing a comprehensively upgraded viewing angle. The ultra-wide FOV greatly enhances the precision and efficiency of robots working in complex environments, further improving their ability to acquire and process environmental information.

A Wider World of Vision: Deptrum Aurora 940 Officially Relea

The Aurora 940 features high precision, excellent reconstruction quality and few erroneous depths, achieving outstanding imaging quality especially within the 3 m range commonly used by service robots, providing superior 3D perception. To reduce backend computing demands, the Aurora 940 carries a high-performance depth computing chip and ISP internally, simultaneously outputting high-quality color, infrared and depth images, with depth computation completed inside the camera — no special requirements on backend platform computing power.

In design, the Aurora 940 adopts a compact body design language with higher compatibility and adaptability, fitting a wide range of robots — delivery robots, cleaning robots, hotel robots and more — of different sizes. In addition, the Aurora 940 supports temperature-drift compensation to maintain high-precision performance across ambient temperatures, and with ultra-low power consumption it can provide robots with continuous 3D perception.

With the official launch of the Aurora 940, DEPTRUM has once again proven its innovation capability and leading position in 3D vision perception. This new 3D structured-light camera will give robots a wider field of view and better 3D vision, further improving their performance in real applications. Going forward, DEPTRUM will continue to commit to technological innovation, advancing 3D vision technology to satisfy the needs of more industries and bring more possibilities to robotics.
