CIOE 2024: DEPTRUM Shines at the China International Optoelectronic Exposition
On September 11, the 25th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE 2024) grandly opened at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao'an New Hall). As a leading high-tech company, DEPTRUM presented its multi-dimensional vision perception technology and solutions, exploring the industry's development and future trends with visitors.
CIOE 2024 focused on optoelectronic innovation and comprehensive solutions, covering the full optoelectronic industry chain — information communications, precision optics, camera technology and applications, lasers and intelligent manufacturing, intelligent sensing, new display and more. The expo gathered over 3,700 quality exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions, comprehensively showcasing the frontier of China's optoelectronic technology, along with more than 80 industrial, application, international and academic forums — a platform for grasping the industry's latest developments.
Product matrix on display: multi-dimensional vision perception shines on site
At this expo, DEPTRUM set up several display zones — product matrix, 3D effects and applications, and adopted products — giving visitors a comprehensive introduction to its multi-dimensional perception technology. In the product matrix zone, multiple 3D depth cameras from the Aurora, Stellar, Nebula and HandPass series were on display, covering structured light, ToF, sToF and other technology routes.

The most eye-catching product was the Nebula 240 MIPI depth camera, an all-new product developed specifically for robotics. Based on DEPTRUM's proprietary nanophotonic chip and sToF technology, just one set of optical hardware achieves ultra-high-precision close-range and high-precision mid-to-long-range depth reconstruction, with the performance of structured light and ToF 3D reconstruction complementary — delivering high-precision, wide-FoV point cloud output for both near and far distances — providing robot vacuums, commercial service robots and other smart devices with more precise and faster 3D vision.

Beyond depth cameras, DEPTRUM also brought the technological core of many of its 3D cameras to the expo — the wave-front processor WFP (Wave-Front Processor). This chip is a mass-produced consumer-grade nanophotonic chip independently developed by DEPTRUM; by modulating light fields at sub-wavelength scales it breaks the physical limits of traditional optics, providing light-field projection control for 3D perception.

Advancing the Internet of Everything: 3D vision covers multiple scenarios
At this expo booth, DEPTRUM displayed multiple industry solutions — smart cockpit, 3D live-streaming matting, SLAM depth reconstruction — as well as terminal devices including palm-payment and face-payment devices, an under-display 3D concept phone and a hotel service robot, letting visitors further experience the technological charm of 3D vision.
The SLAM depth reconstruction solution is an important innovation of DEPTRUM in 3D vision. Centered on the Nebula 240 MIPI, it cleverly combines close-range structured light with mid-to-long-range ToF, enabling a robot to achieve close-range obstacle avoidance, real-time precise localization and 3D map building with a single module. The solution lets robots complete complex tasks more efficiently, greatly improving applicability and reliability across scenarios — a double breakthrough in performance and cost.

Likewise, the first-appearance DEPTRUM 3D live-streaming matting solution won unanimous praise from visitors. Centered on a high-performance RGBD camera, it processes the RGB fused image through built-in algorithms to achieve high-quality matting. It also supports AIGC background generation and replacement, further improving background matting for live-stream e-commerce, entertainment streaming and video conferencing, bringing audiences a stronger immersive experience.

At the same time, the palm device and the under-display 3D concept phone also attracted visitors' attention and hands-on experience. Centered on the HandPass 100 palm camera, the palm device uses dual-modal palm-print and palm-vein imaging to ensure verification accuracy, offering a more secure and reliable identity-recognition experience. The under-display 3D concept phone, with the proprietary nanophotonic chip, effectively solves the problem of low screen light transmittance — balancing a complete screen appearance with camera performance and advancing smartphone display technology.
Adopted products display zone
At this expo, DEPTRUM not only displayed comprehensive innovation in 3D vision technology, but also embodied its continuous efforts to fuse intelligent hardware with advanced vision technology. In the future, DEPTRUM will continue to “create new dimensions,” explore a new era of 3D vision, promote the popularization and application of 3D perception, and build the vision-technology infrastructure of the Internet-of-Everything era — letting 3D vision truly change our lives.
From September 11 to 13, CIOE continues with exciting highlights. DEPTRUM will keep presenting its 3D vision feast at Booth 6B55, Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao'an New Hall) — see you there!
