Liberian Delegation Visits DEPTRUM to Explore Biometrics Applications in Africa
A delegation from Liberia recently visited DEPTRUM for in-depth exchanges on the application of biometric technology in public services, identity verification and smart payments.
The delegation was led by Ibrahim Bakri Nyei, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia. DEPTRUM founder and CEO Zhu Li received the delegation and gave a systematic introduction to the company’s core technology capabilities, global business footprint and overseas deployment experience.
Many African countries are accelerating the development of digital infrastructure and public service systems, driving sustained growth in demand for secure, efficient and scalable biometric technology. During this visit to China, the Liberian delegation focused on China’s achievements in artificial intelligence and digital identity, and made a dedicated visit to DEPTRUM to learn more about innovative applications and global deployment cases of biometrics in public services, smart payments and digital identity systems.
During the exchange, DEPTRUM highlighted its core achievements in palm-vein biometric technology and gave a live demonstration of palm-vein devices. Delegation members spoke highly of the contactless interaction, recognition efficiency and system fluidity.
DEPTRUM’s palm-vein verification solution uses dual-modal fusion of palm prints and palm veins. It is medium-free, contactless and highly secure, effectively improving both security and convenience in identity verification and payment scenarios. With a false acceptance rate below 0.001%, it meets the requirements of a wide range of high-security scenarios. The solution is already widely used in door locks and access control, identity verification, financial payments, public services and smart cities, enabling more natural and efficient interaction between people and digital public service facilities.
DEPTRUM is a globally leading palm-vein technology provider with business covering China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, and mature capabilities for large-scale global deployment and localized service. The company has also established a comprehensive international certification system, including certification from the Third Research Institute of China’s Ministry of Public Security, a CBUAE license in the UAE, Japan’s PCI-PTS 6.0 certification and Indonesia’s SPVA certification, laying a solid foundation for global business expansion.
Following in-depth discussions and hands-on experience, the Liberian delegation expressed strong recognition of DEPTRUM’s biometric solutions and proposed launching relevant pilot projects in Liberia to create a benchmark for digital identity and smart payments in Africa. The two sides further explored cooperation and promotion in Nigeria and more African countries.
The visit marks a further expansion of DEPTRUM’s globalization strategy into the African market. Going forward, DEPTRUM will continue to leverage its strengths in technology innovation, product portfolio and global deployment capability to advance innovative applications and industrial adoption of biometric technology worldwide, helping build more secure, efficient and intelligent digital public service systems.
