Multiple Technology Routes Empower Robots' 3D Perception

DEPTRUM

In today's era of rapid technological development, robots have become the core force of intelligent transformation across industries. To improve robots' perception and understanding of the 3D world, DEPTRUM leverages its leading advantages in 3D vision — using ToF, structured light, sToF and other technical principles to give robots excellent spatial understanding and environmental perception, and, through multiple customized 3D perception solutions, helping them work efficiently in various complex scenarios.

Relying on its self-developed projector and structured-light reconstruction algorithms, DEPTRUM provides robots with a 3D structured-light solution, achieving real-time depth reconstruction and high-precision depth information. Compared with traditional algorithms, its computation is reduced to 1/20–1/50, greatly lowering hardware requirements — improving deployment convenience while offering high customization potential that can be flexibly adjusted to customer needs, providing the best solution for various application scenarios.

In the iToF route, DEPTRUM has a complete product line whose core software and hardware can be highly customized for different scenarios; even under low computing power and low power consumption, it still outputs high-precision, high-frame-rate, high-resolution depth maps. Meanwhile, based on its self-developed nanophotonic innovative hardware and cutting-edge algorithms, DEPTRUM also launched the mToF scheme: the WFP nanophotonic chip realizes modulated light fields, and combined with high-precision ToF algorithms and multi-sensor fusion, it achieves depth enhancement and super-resolution, further improving robots' visual perception precision.

In addition, by combining mToF with structured light, DEPTRUM developed sToF technology. It lets a robot perform structured-light and ToF depth reconstruction simultaneously — with just one set of optical hardware, achieving long-range high-precision and mid-range ultra-high-precision measurement. sToF also effectively solves ToF's multi-path interference, high/low reflectivity and single-frequency phase-wrapping problems, integrating SLAM and obstacle avoidance in one module — a double breakthrough in performance and cost.

In dToF, DEPTRUM combines a dToF depth camera with an RGB sensor, achieving high-quality RGBD fused image output through color-depth fusion algorithms. dToF offers long-range high-precision measurement and strong anti-interference: indoors it achieves depth reconstruction up to 14 m, and even outdoors under 80,000-lux illumination it still achieves 4 m depth reconstruction — greatly improving robots' outdoor obstacle avoidance and navigation.

Through multiple technology routes, DEPTRUM provides robots with the most suitable visual perception, further improving perception precision and efficiency and expanding application scenarios, driving the further development of robotics. Going forward, DEPTRUM will continue to commit to technological innovation and optimization, letting visual perception offer greater potential and prospects for robots, helping bring in the era of intelligent robots.
