From Nanophotonics to Intelligent Perception: DEPTRUM Showcases Its Innovations at iNOW 2026

DEPTRUM

Deptrum was invited to the International Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop (iNOW 2026), recently held in Beijing and Tianjin, to present its latest advances in nanophotonics, 3D visual perception, and related applications.

International Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop, iNOW 2026

An international forum for nanosemiconductors, optoelectronics, and photonic chips, this year’s workshop brought together researchers and industry experts from universities, research institutions, and companies worldwide to discuss emerging technologies and paths to commercialization.

Nanophotonics connects optical technology with intelligent perception. By precisely controlling light at micro- and nanoscales, it offers new ways to overcome the size, performance, and cost constraints of conventional optical components.

Through sustained research in nanophotonics, Deptrum has developed a consumer-grade nanophotonic chip ready for volume production: the Wavefront Processor. By controlling light at the subwavelength scale, the chip actively shapes optical characteristics such as laser speckle patterns. This improves the stability and performance of visual perception systems and helps bring nanophotonics from the laboratory into commercial applications.

Deptrum technology demonstration at iNOW 2026

Building on nanophotonic chips and active visual perception, Deptrum serves biometrics, robotics, and smart-device applications. In identity perception, we continue to advance secure, contactless palm authentication. Our dual-modal palmprint and palm-vein recognition solution enables safer, more convenient interaction. The technology is already used in payments, transport, public services, smart campuses, retail, and food service, providing an identity verification interface for intelligent services.

In spatial perception, Deptrum helps robots understand their surroundings. Our high-performance 3D vision solutions draw on sToF, structured light, and stereo vision to support environmental perception, autonomous localization, and intelligent obstacle avoidance. Products are deployed in home, commercial, and underwater robots, with expansion into emerging applications such as embodied AI.

Since its founding, Deptrum has focused on optical sensing, intelligent perception, and high-performance computing, connecting advances in fundamental optoelectronics with practical applications. Our participation in iNOW showcased both our nanophotonics R&D capabilities and the work of Chinese companies to commercialize advanced optoelectronic technologies.

Deptrum will continue innovating in nanophotonics and visual perception to deliver more advanced, efficient solutions for biometrics, robotics, and smart devices, helping bring intelligent technology into everyday life.
